Zovirax Duo 50 mg / g + 10 mg / g creambelongs to the Alli group of cream-type cream. It is used for the treatment of infections caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) in adults and children (under the age of 12).
GPs will tell you which cream is right for you. Sometimes there may be another infection that is not listed above. Do not use more often than once daily for more than 3 days unless directed by a doctor.
What is the dosage form?The Zovirax Duo cream comes in a convenient oral tablet form.
Zovirax Duo cream contains, a type of antiviral medicine called a so-called 'alli' which prevents viruses from multiplying. When you receive Zovirax Duo cream, it will inhibit the replication of the herpes simplex virus that causes genital herpes.
You usually start at the same dose of Zovirax Duo cream at a low dose and you may increase it every 4 to 6 hours while decreasing the dose every 8 hours while still having the same level of protection against other viruses. This may increase the frequency of your symptoms and/or decrease the severity of your lesions.
The amount of Zovirax Duo cream you need will be determined by your doctor.
You will take Zovirax Duo cream as advised by your doctor. Your weight and the length of your stay in your host will be determined by your weight.
Your host's weight (g) will be determined by the hospital, clinic or hospital wards. Some customers may require a different dosage of Zovirax Duo cream.
The recommended dose is one 50 mg / g cream and 10 mg / g cream every 8 hours. You may take it with or without food.
The frequency of your lesions will be determined by the severity of your symptoms (mild, moderate or severe). If you are experiencing any side effects, these should go away after a few days.
If you are not sure whether you are taking any medication for these symptoms, talk to your pharmacist or doctor. This is especially important if you have heart problems or a history of these conditions.
What precautions should be followed?
If you are feeling gainful, impotent or have any sensitivity to any of the ingredients of this medicine, see your doctor or pharmacist if you think you may be allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients.
There may be other interactions with other ingredients of this medicine, e.g. preservatives or dyes, which may affect the absorption of the medicine.
It is important to talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant, stop using this medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
What are the side effects of Zovirax Duo cream?
The most common side effects are headache, nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Some patients may also develop skin reactions with a more serious nature. If any of these symptoms persist, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Dont skimp or skip Apply to the affected area five times a day at approximately 4hourly intervals for four days With a cotton swab or your finger use enough to completely cover the cold sore and surrounding area Just rub in gently and completely If you miss a dose just apply the next time you remember and continue on schedule
Dont share Cold sores are contagious Dont share your tube or pump with anybody else
Make it up You can apply cosmetics like lipstick over Zovirax Cold Sore Cream after it has completely dried Always use a separate makeup applicator like a cotton swab to avoid spreading the infection
4 days max Use Zovirax Cold Sore Cream for no more than 4 days If your symptoms do not improve after 4 days of treatment with Zovirax Cold Sore Cream you should tell your doctor
